This thing is closer to a gun than a knife, though. A gun only has one function, it shoots bullets with the intent to hit something. This isn't something you "have to" have to survive. You can pretty much go through your life without ever touching a gun, let alone firing it.
A knife, on the other hand, is something that you almost have to use. There are certain things in everyday (civilized) life that you can only do sensibly with a knife.
This is quite similar. You can go through your computer life without ever needing this. Obviously, since it didn't even exist until a couple years ago.
When you're analyzing what malware does, you want to run malware. Preferably in a lab condition where you can watch and analyze what it does. So you can then create a malware scanner that finds and neutralizes the threat.
It's more morbid curiosity. A bit like why I hang out around flat earth and other conspiracy sites. I wonder what makes people consider it a good idea.
I admit, I rarely understand humans. Twice so if they're irrational. And these are about the most irrational things I can think of. And it's fascinating to behold. It's kinda surreal, a little bizarre and also a tad sad. But absolutely fascinating.
I let you in on a little secret: Tracing back the ownership of a couple "herbal", "natural" and homeopathetic stuff, you'll rather quickly end up with names that are familiar, but usually in the context of medicine. They already own that market too, why did you think they don't?
If anything, your suggestion would allow pharma corps to simply stop the (very expensive) testing and simply outsource it to the end consumer. Just launch that new product with a "may" cure on its label. It works? Awesome, now we can print "does" cure. It kills? Well, keep the "may" and let's continue the study. Maybe add "might have adverse effects on your longevity" to the list of side effects.
Maybe it's like the old "we'll go to Iraq and kill a million Iraqis and a dentist" joke.
The funny bit is that the scammers probably pay more tax than some "legitimate" businesses...
You need connections now to shoot someone in the face?
And who's gonna run our economy?
Real ones or homeopathetic ones?
With proper medicine they have a chance.
Without, they don't.
Now this is something I'd like to see! Can you provide some links?

Pretty good analogy, actually.
I was thinking of shooting them, but I like your idea better. Rope's cheaper than bullets and can be reused.
So the solution would be to remove those investors?
No, you get burning chrome.
Whoa!

If it does I question the "intelligence" part of AI.
I once thought that if the truth can be told so as to be understood it will be believed.
Ain't so easy with some people.
Through the nose.
The word you're looking for is chutzpah.
Wait, wait, what? You can replace batteries in Apple products now?
He's not their customer yet, so they do care.
Once you have swallowed the whole Apple infrastructure hook, line and sinker you can't bail anymore anyway without cutting your losses.
Trump Traitors? Is that like the Wesley Crushers?
I'm resistant to changing to Apple.
It is actually that simple.
What kind of argument is that?
