I've recently tried the vmware product on a pent III machine running at 300mhz. (I haven't tried yours, so I'm not comparing) When it booted win98 it ended up being too slow to be usable. Is this speed inherint in this type of problem, or is it possible to have plex running win98 at something approaching normal speed.

Can you imagine if English was designed by a central words-to-idea-association dictating authority?
I say:
Of course I can, its called a dictionary, and there are several examples of where the authority have changed the language. Color, colour, flavor, flavour are two off the top of my head, which where changed because a dictionary writer (who shall remain nameless because I don't remember the name) decided he wanted the US to be different from the English. But it goes back further. When the french invaded England in the 1500 (give or take a century) they didn't like the way certain words were spelled. Fite became fight, rite became right (There where other examples but it's late). The dictating authority in this case is the French.
Even on a non stable multicast it could work, just leave spaces where packets were missed, and a table of where they are. Then go to some standard ftp disto site, and do an ftp starting at each missing packet. All in all, it should be a big boost.
don't even look at it. It's trojan java applet that shows a guy holding his asshole wide open.
