Cows don't eat much grass. At least not in northern Europe. They eat mostly concentrates made from soy. The soy is grown in south America and shipped to the farmer in Europe where the cows eat them.
I don't know what the grass/concentrates ratio for cows, but in Norway goats eat 50% concentrates. And goats eats the least amount of concentrates of the eat farm animals.
Beef is thus made mainly from concentrates from south America where they cut down the rain forest to grow soy.
