There is no point to this article. Maybe there was before he wrote it. But all we seemed to have gleaned was Hunkapiller should be percieved as more important than Bill Gates because he is involved in the genome.
a tip... If you are trying to convince Geeks that someone is more important than Gates (a rich geek) try throwing in what they have done for humanity (or even what they've done for geeks). Or any facts at all. "30 sequencers" isn't going to cut it.
The metric system, however doesn't have the same sort of urgency. They _are_ going to run out of addresses. This move to IPv6 will have to be done. The ISP's will start screaming louder as we get closer.
Silent mode works well as long as you don't need to be reached. I think a mandatory vibrate feature that could be triggered in quiet areas would server as a more effective solution. I wouldn't even mind disabling the microphone portion of the phone in these designated areas.
If you remove the ablitity to receive information even in a _non-intrusive_ way, you will be doing a great injustice to System Admins and Doctors (and I'm sure people of other professions) who enjoy the occasional movie when they are on call.

Yes but you are too close to that buy button.
Am I the only one who finds this ironic.
