    new homes are built from Cross Laminated Timber, which is itself made from the leftover parts of wood and trees
    no one cuts trees down anymore just to build a house

    But Keyboardio, the product that is being Slashvertised, is not, save (maybe) those two little panels on the corner. Although were I a betting man, my money would be on veneer rather than actual wood panels.

    I just wonder if they come with a cord.

    TFA doesn't mention one (just Bluetooth), but in one of the pictures you can clearly see part of a cord poking out from between the two sections...

    The fact that governance is dynamic and contingent solely on the whims of a handful of powerful people are precisely why everyone, yourself included, should actually care about the government snooping on private information.

    Oh, that and fetish sex. Because there's nothing wrong with fetish sex, but I'd bet most people who are into that sort of thing want to keep it hidden regardless.

    The "worth" of a polygraph lies in the subject's belief in its ability to judge his truthfulness. Basically it's a psychological tool. It's ability to discover lies relies on the subject's belief in the operator's "professional" ability and his faith in machines making no mistakes.

    The irony being, of course, that the type of absolute sociopath you would want to find/prevent from hiring with such a technique is exactly the person it won't work on.

    Which, actually, explains a lot about law enforcement types....

    Here's my problem with "progressive-ism" -

    Progressives convince themselves that "progress means moving in a good direction," because that justifies whatever behavior they're trying to justify. But the fact is, the term "progress" only means "to move in a direction," and never specifies whether that direction is good or bad.

    The Nazi's rounding up and exterminating "undesireables?" Yea, that was progressivism.

    IMO, the only positive progress in political arenas is the type that expands individual rights. Which is why people who label themselves as "Progressives" tend to piss me off, since many of their ideas of "progress" involve taking rights away from people they don't agree with. Hey, just like the Nazis!

    More in common than they realize.
