    There's always Netscape for your browsing and email convenience, all in a single application, and hardly any bigger than Firefox or Thunderbird each individually. And it has probably the most stable, unchanging UI in the entire business. Accept no imitations.

    So what? Stop reelecting corrupt politicians. The voters choose who gets on the ballot. They really should quit their bellyaching. They make the system what it is. There is no one else to blame, but apparently that won't stop anybody from doing it anyway.

    In some of those places I recommend Kevlar fashions if you work the second or third shifts. And leave the Nikes and jewelry at home.

    We are now to the point where the demands are absurd.

    Since the days of Gutenberg.. Every new technology restarts the cycle, keeps the game alive.

    What needs to happen is for the copyright cartels to get busted into the stoneage for vigilanteism, racketeering, and barratry, followed by REAL copyright reform.

    The process for that is extremely clear and simple. It starts with us, and our votes.

  8. What about the biomass decay from all that extra food we'll be throwing away? What's the point of growing more if we're just going to let it rot? We don't suffer from food shortages, we suffer from de facto food rationing. The CO2 thing? Replace the hydrocarbon fuels with something else. The only impediment there is the political corruption.

    Look, I'm not going to try to change people. I just expect them to acknowledge the problem. How they deal with it is their choice. I kinda figure that once they are aware, the change will happen almost automatically.

    They would show a 404. Otherwise, even though the comments were mine (and the URLs up there are direct copy and paste from when the comments did exist), to you I can't prove a thing, not even that I exist myself. Reality is indeed personal

    I am very fascinated by the doubts people exhibit from something so very simple. But, hey, don't believe me, it hardly really matters in today's crazy world with the things people do believe. Maybe it's the simplicity itself that people reject. I get that a lot.

    A lot of times it's only a reflection of how the companies treat them. I can ask the company the same thing, "how long will you keep me around if I want to stay?" If employees are going to be so disposable, the employers shouldn't expect any different. Loyalty, like respect, is a two way street, they have to be earned.

    Well, if you don't want to count experience, don't ask for the guy's employment history.

    If you want to know if there is ageism, just watch the first reaction when you walk into the office. The same thing applies to race. Watch one or two people flinch a little when a black person walks in. It won't necessarily a be conscious one, but it certainly can explain why the denials are so fierce. People are simply unaware.
