Yeah because just that I believe that most IT stuff can be done faster using a CLI than with a GUI then I'm soo damn stupid that I think that the same applies to 100% of all work including photo editing...
This would be the equivalent of me accusing you to indicate that you would prefer to enter text in a word processor with only the mouse. Now this is so stupid that no one unless they are insane would claim that and still you want to claim the same regarding photo editing. Please use your brain.
Reminds me off a guy that our support staff had to help over the phone on my first workplace. It took them a while to realise that his definition of stopping and starting the computer was powering the screen on and off:)
Or that Windows 95 user who had never turned his computer off since the day he got it, he was utterly impressed that all kinds of stuff began to work after our support staff rebooted it for him...
When will Windows get rid of the registry? And what is it about this GUI obsession with you millennials? A good terminal (like bash) lets you do stuff faster and easier than any GUI. It's also damn easier to give the advice to "open terminal, copy past these lines" than it is to have to create multiple screen shots of how to do the same thing in a GUI and then hope and pray that the end user is using the same language and version of OS as you do.
Instead of whining about it you could disable the memory overcommit by adding "vm.overcommit_memory=2" to/etc/sysctl.conf and run "sysctl -p" (so that the setting takes immediate effect so you don't have to reboot).
Well XML can be a workable choice if the structure is stable. Don't know how it's for their other configuration files but the project files for Visual Studio is a complete nightmare since it changes with every release. And of course just using XML because of XML is never a good solution, having simple field=value (or fieldvalue) is quite useful.
And nightmare when things go wrong, o boy. My son just got a laptop from his school which refused to connect to our home WLAN, it spins for a few seconds and then "could not connect", not a single piece of error code or anything else that indicates what the cause is and the troubleshooting guide only wants you to restart your router and see if that solves the problem...
So why then is there always a post in every Windows article describing how you disable something by adding some strange named variable fifty levels deep into the registry? Windows can keep on doing shit like that and no one cares because it's Windows. That is the stronghold you get on the user base from creating a monopoly in the 80:ies and 90:ies.
It was asked for by all those Windows users and Indian "developers" that always send screenshots of system logs or XML data instead of that extremely hard to use format called text.
Oh it can be done with far less tech than that. When Anna Nicole Smith worked as a underwear model for H&M back in 1993 http://z.cdn-expressen.se/imag... there where reports of drivers in Norway that drove off the road, somehow they where not looking at the road anymore:)
The problem with such studies on mice is that rodents have an extremely high risk of getting cancer. Since the mutation that causes a cell to be a cancer cell happens when a cell divides you get a far less chance of cancer if you minimize the division of your cells. With limited starving the body does not spend energy on rebuilding new muscle protein and so on so you get a lower cell division rate. For rodents where the risk of cancer is so high this could play a major factor and thus the mice with limited starvation have a higher chance of living longer.
The big question is if this also would be true for primates such as humans where the risk of getting cancer is not that high to begin with. If your risk of getting cancer is say 1% and limit starvation reduces this risk to 0.8% then you have not really gained any advantage but for a rodent with 80% chance of getting cancer and you reduce it to 64% (same percentage reduction as in my human example) then that is a huge advantage.
Thanks for the most insightful post on Slashdot on this matter ever. Damn that I don't have any modpoints to give you. The only reason that "don't eat fat" or "don't eat carbs" work is because they make people eat less, i.e if you skip carbs then there is a lot of calories on a lunch plate that you suddenly don't eat anymore. Also if you skip fat or carbs you automatically don't eat a lot of the junk food. Myself I started to calculate calories and so far have lost 180lbs.
What does the situation in the US have to do with anything, if the same thing happens in another country (which don't have the properties that you describe) then we can say with some degree of confidence that the reason that it is happening is the same. There is no need for Lawyers to promote their industry in my country, you cannot hire a private Lawyer at a criminal court here and we have very very few civil cases. That the US have lots of civil cases and that you have lots of bus chasers are hardly stereotypes about the US.
What I meant with "Perhaps that is how it works in US" and "I don't know" was refering to if Lawyers in your country did this only to promote their business and then lying about it, that I cannot know 100%, what I do know is that is not how it works over here so making the assumption that the same rules would apply for the US is not that far fetched but since there could be a slight chance that this was not the case I wrote that particular quote. It had no other meaning or bearing.
Regarding PTs this is a pure semantic rant from your side, exactly what some profession is called was not the point that I was trying to make. But since this seams to be important for you I was speaking about both PTs, Strength Trainers and Team Coaches. And of course a PT would hire another PT, as I said I do coach people myself but I would never coach myself.
Perhaps that is how it works in the US, that I don't know. In my country we don't have the legions of Lawyers that you have in the US since matters and conflicts are not normally decided in court (since I don't live in a common law country) so we have exactly zero bus chasers, tv commercials and so on for Lawers and still Lawyers over here usually hire a Lawyer if they would end up in court for what ever reason.
And with regards to trainers I do train other people myself and I can honestly say that if I ever decide to compete myself then I would most certainly hire someone to coach me and I would not do this because I have been told to do so due to PR reasons. In fact your posts where the very first place I have ever heard of this idea.
Sorry to call this a conspiracy of yours, but it did sound like some kind of conspiracy (they only do it in order to promote their own business and lie about it in order to hide their true meaning). I have no intention to put words in your mouth, that was simply the feeling that I got from your posts.
I guess that it depends on who happens to watch the "incident", if it's the wrong person then yes you have your dick hanging out -> exposing yourself. Truth be told I have no idea if this really happens, I don't live in the US and in my country we have no such cases that I know of (and we don't have these public sex offenders lists either).
Perhaps they refer to people having been sentenced due to these statures when publicly urinating? Anyway if we take the first stature (Arizona, Ariz. Rev. Stat. 13-3821) which is available online here: http://www.azleg.gov/ars/13/03... they in section 15 refer to 13-1402 which is here: http://www.azleg.gov/ars/13/01... at which we can read:
A person commits indecent exposure if he or she exposes his or her genitals or anus or she exposes the areola or nipple of her breast or breasts and another person is present, and the defendant is reckless about whether the other person, as a reasonable person, would be offended or alarmed by the act.
I think that you are one step to much into this whole conspiracy of yours. I happen to know a lot of trainers that also are extremely talented power lifters and they absolutely cannot train themselves due to what I described earlier, and they know this because when they tried they failed miserably. Despite all their knowledge and expertise they could not apply it to themselves.
And I assume that the exact same thing happens with Lawyers, if you consider how competitive the market is you would see that no Lawyer would promote others just for the off chance that they would get more jobs themselves. Ok there might be one or two, no is after all one of those dangerous words.
A single case does not invalidate parents claim. The reason that (smart) Lawyers don't represent themselves in court is the very same reason that (smart) Personal Trainers hire another PT to train themselves and that is you so easily get "home blind" (sorry don't know if this is a valid expression in English since English is not my first language) and emotionally attached to things that does not matter so that they do miss the things that do matter and thus an external impartial view is very important. Also lawyers specialise in different areas so if you are a criminal courts Lawyer you might not be able to correctly handle a civil courts case at all.
So a system that is more powerful than the 360 and PS3 is now smeared as a cellphone. Yeah I will look forward to playing say Xenoblade Chronicles X on my current cellphone.
I hope that you are right but so far I have not seen any evidence that this would happen. Just look at the company that cries in TFA, they are heavily invested in Microsoft technology, they write their games in DirectX and on Windows only so they do absolutely nothing to help change the situation. So I'm quite confident that if Microsoft manages to destroy Steam then Gears of War will be released on the Windows 10 App Store or what ever it's called, they might whine and cry but they will release it there.
Yeah because just that I believe that most IT stuff can be done faster using a CLI than with a GUI then I'm soo damn stupid that I think that the same applies to 100% of all work including photo editing...

Reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Never claimed that Windows was a real computer. My current workplace is 100% Linux only.
No you remember wrong (or this was fixed by the Release B version in Europe). Win98 however could not survive many days without rebooting.
Reminds me off a guy that our support staff had to help over the phone on my first workplace. It took them a while to realise that his definition of stopping and starting the computer was powering the screen on and off :)

Does WIndows, FreeBSD and OSX implement RFC 5961? Looks like the vulnerability lies in the specs and not in the implementation.
Also Tesla will probably fix this particular sensor loop holes in the future.

Perhaps but where is the fun in that?
