    Copyright laws, I think, is unlikely to change a lot. You are stuck with the musician, writer, photographer owning their work. And you will have to accept that you may legally copy it only on the premises they set. What is likely to change on a digital arena, however, is what these premises are. Mp3.com may (or may not) serve as a model for future record companies. They have some good artists already. People could for financial or political reasons decide they want to get all their music from 'liberal' labels. This will reduce the income and marketing power the traditional industry. It will be forced to change their ways or be out-competed. If the music industry is superfluous layer, it will probably disappear in the end. The artists own the rights to all new music, and the consumer has the money that pays for it. In the end, it is you and I who decide.
