Moosbert, > I think will is the key word here. Your concerns are valid. There are a number of issues that must take place before the transition of InterBase to OSS can be completed. We are well on our way. A license has been chosen (MPL 1.1). The source and build process has been moved to CVS from our proprietary InterBase driven system. The source is being prepared for public consumption. We have sought the advise of many key open source persons in our transition to the OSS arena, all of which expressed the importance of 'productizing' our source to foster project adoption and shorten the learning curve to understandability. This process is underway. We expect business and product related issues to be complete mid-2000. Currently InterBase 6.0 for Linux, Solaris and Windows is available for public beta on our site. Please take a look and tell us what you think.
