  1. This isn't new -- Read _The_Mythical_Man_Month_ on "Extreme" Programming · · Score: 1

It's probably too late for this observation but the concept of programming in pairs has been suggested before. In fact, there's a very old (by tech standards) book called The Mythical Man Month by Frederick P. Brooks, Jr. The copy I have is the 20th anniversary edition, published in 1995, so these ideas are at least 25 years old.

Brooks is, as the Author's Bio states, best known as the "father of the IBM System/360". He was a project manager for its development, and later was manager of the Operating System/360 during the design phase.

It's long past time to prove that we can learn from history, and stop claiming that we just now originally thought up ideas that have been floating around for decades, or longer. If you'd like to find this book, its ISBN is 0-201-83595-9.

I'm not big-headed enough to try to claim credit, but after I sent them a note about 'fact checking', they changed their story (at http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/new sid_1190000/1190724.stm to be a little more balanced and accurate to the numbers, and replied to my e-mail telling me so. They probably got a lot more letters than just my own.

  3. It's just a high-speed, 1-time pad. on Professor Describes Unbreakable Cryptosystem? · · Score: 1

Other's comments relate here too. You have to trust the 3rd-party generator of the random numbers to not embed some non-random sync characters. If the ideal exists, and the random numbers are truly random and not compromised, then you're just talking about a 1-time pad.
