"Wow, we ordered this fleet of cars and they all came without exhaust systems! That's ridiculous! We're switching vendors!" "WHAT? Get off your lazy arse and get build the damn exhaust systems yourself! And while you're at it, make them free and redistribute them to everyone in the world! Don't give me that crap about not having the resources, and needing to show a bottom line to the stockholders! Bunch of leeches!"
Ultima IX was the end of the "nonology", and UO2 will be sufficiently removed from the Britannia everyone is familiar with (struggle between technology and magic, etc).
We saw the first evidence of this struggle at the end of U9, where the Avatar turned himself into living crappy techno music.
Can anyone think of a worse video game ending, except maybe the C64 "Hacker" from 1987-ish?
Unfortunately, the interface for actually buying stuff was ghastly, and having to feed your troops was annoying.
Aw. I loved being able to feed that skinny Shamino a whole leg of ham, and follow it up with a pie. "How tasty!" "BURRRRP!"
[reminisce]Reminded me of the old arcade games, like Final Fight, where you recovered your health by eating things like entire turkeys. "He gave me a turkey, and I was like, 'I could *never* eat a whole turkey', but I ate it, and now I feel *great*!"
There! In that block right there! Get the mass driver!
