    Self-styled technologists who see study of the liberal arts--especially history--as wasteful are apparently unaware of the history of UNIX, which has long had a close relationship with the liberal arts. As Thomas Scoville observed, "If there's nothing different about UNIX people, how come so many were liberal arts majors?" See his essay "The Elements Of Style: UNIX As Literature".

    According to Scoville, NT people seem not to share this affinity for the liberal arts.
