SOMEONE should be responsible for the legally dubious behavior corporations partake in, otherwise we're going to be bailing out industry after failing industry. It's possible that the people who made the decision to implement the code didn't know that their developers, but shouldn't MS take down the site or compensate the people that were the victims of theft? Instead, they'll just have their lawyers fight a battle that shouldn't have to be fought until the victims can't afford to fight it anymore.
