That comment was in bad taste. Moderator(s)?

You mean that comment HAD bad taste.

  2. Re:Why???? w a r n i n g SPOILER questions. on Review:Star Wars:The Phantom Menance · · Score: 1

    Spoilers:

    1) For starters, if you don't know, Palpatine = Sidious. Every action in this movie was a way for him to become chancellor.

    2) Liam Nieson played Qui-Gon Jinn.

    4) See it a few more time, you'll begin to understand Jar Jar.

Character development sucks, but as I've been told hundreds of times, SW:PM is the first two hours in a 12 hour movie, and thus there's plenty of time for more development.

  3. Re:Linux at Micro-Center on SuSE gets Mainstream Sales Distribution · · Score: 1

I still can't get the taste of $78 for RedHat out of my mouth.

Heh, at a Hastings in College Station, they have a small display in the center of the store with Redhat 6.0 (at a whopping $88) and immediately below it, Suse 6.1 ($29). Hmm.. wonder which one I'm going to buy (well, if I was planning on buying either of them.)

  4. Re:hey katz! on Sellout: George Lucas in HypeSpace · · Score: 3

Regardless of whether he wants the hype or not, Star Wars is his movie. It's his creation. If he wants to hype it, he can.

Jon acts like Star Wars is something he owns. I'm rather happy to tell him that he's wrong.

As a friend of mine once said, "George Lucas could show two and a half hours of his hairy ass, and people would still go to see it." We care about Star Wars because of what it is. We certainly hope that SW:PM lives up to Episodes 4-6, but if they don't, we shouldn't feel cheated out of the experience. Lucas can do whatever he damn well wants with these movies.

Saying he is selling out is like saying Metallica sold out with their album Load. It certainly was different, and more mainstream. But if that's what they wanted to do with their music, that is THEIR choice. Saying they sold out because of it is your infantile way of saying they don't have a right to go the direction they want to go.

  5. Re:Windows-ONLY news shouldn't be on Slashdot on Creative ports Glide · · Score: 1

I don't believe Slashdot is a "Linux-only" forum. There are plenty of Linux-only articles here, and yet when there is a Windows only article you complain?

  6. how effective...and amusing on Judge to freeze Connectix VGS · · Score: 1

Any of you rememberthe original reason Sony wanted to remove VGS from shelves?

It was because the quality was not on par with the Sony and they didn't want their stuff to get a bad reputation because it was being played on a system that was not suited for PS games.

Guess this shows their true colors.

    -------------------------------

Dude, lay off. It's a practical joke for crying out loud!
Seriously, assuming it's a joke, (and when I realized that it probably was around 1 am) I started laughing uncontrollably. In fact, I laughed harder than I do when I read UF!

Plus, if you went and mailed Microsoft, Lucas, etc that's your own fault for doing so without knowing who was "suing" UF. I'm fairly confident that the reason he couldn't tell us who was suing him is that, if he said M$ was doing it, then that WOULD be libelous (sp) and he could easily have been sued then.

I for one think this was an excellent prank, made better by several sites being in on it.
