I'm not saying WINE doesn't have solid code but another interpretation is always a good thing. Especially when you consider Quaterdeck's highest priority was code optimization so it will fit and run on a 386. Cross referencing source never killed anybody. If anything WINE might be able to learn from past mistakes. It has the potential to be educational.
Studying artifact code can teach alot.
I think the radio stations and TV stations should be responsiable for any cases where someone pirates them.
This country has got the most screwed up goverment that I know of. Come on how many jack ass countries would even listen to a court case from a crook who is sueing a house tenant because when he broke into thier house he slipped and broke his leg in their entry way. The only ones this goverment seems intrested in protecting is the criminals and the rich. (which is which is hard to tell sometimes.)
Anyone up for a little Boston Tea Party?
What alot of linux zealots don't know...

Is Novell Doomed?

· Score: 1
Is Novell doomed? hmm I wouldn't really bet the farm on that one. Especially when alot of the big boys lease or contract Novell to write their network setups.
Why is Linux held the pentical of all operating systems reigning terror upon all that may stand in its way?
Novell is very solid technology based on a very stable parent operating system. Some of us like to call this parent os BSD. Believe it or not Novell even keeps up to date with the relevant changes from its predicessor. This is why it was a sticky matter when Novell bought AT&T Unix. Alot of people where asking if it was right for a Novell to be selling Netware(a gutted and optimized BSD Unix) and sell AT&T Unix. So they sold it to SCO which is even more evil. SCO in the late 80s or was it early 90s was bought out by....(drum roll)... Microsoft.
Anyways sorry for the babbling. The real point is that a large portion of linux users are ranting and boasting how some day they will rule the earth. With Open Standards why does anyone OS have to rule the earth. No Netware isn't exactly the #1 selling NOS anymore but than again will linux ever take this spot? What is Red Hat 7.0 the great sign that proves how wonderfully stable the distro's are. I think Netware has a deffent solid place in the schemes of NOS's. And like all NOS's and OS's it too is growing just like your beloved linux.
BTW: FreeBSD tromples all over the autistic pengiun. =) I felt compelled to throw out my opinion since everyone else was.
ya and our military should be equipted with the lastest technology of cute fuzzy creatures like geribals and the hamster. In times of war they just duct tape them to their bodies so that if someone tries to hurt them they will have to live with their conscense that they hurt a cute and fuzzy animal of nature.
Why wouldn't it work! Ban guns all over the world totally. We will just have pillow fights in the summer and snowball fights in the winter.
I think computers should be totally banned too...
and the world should be rubber padded so we can never hurt our little selves. God forbid driving in a vehicle that goes faster than walking speed.
Or better yet how about we all just submit ourselves into little rubber rooms that way we don't hurt anyone or our selves.
We will deffently need a isolation chamber after we all lose our minds from the lack of being able to interact with anything.
Hmmm.... screw it! Why doesn't the president just press the fucking little red button and end all this insanity once and for all. Complete human genocide would mean that no one can get hurt or do bad things to each other ever again.
Cube Qube pube who fucking cares. I mean come one its a geometrical shape not a marketing scheme. Look at the Cobalt and than look at SGI's systems. If you ask me I would say that Mac and Cobalt copied them. hmmm... but really who cares its just a case. you know a thing that holds the motherboard and keeps bad elements from frying the guts of your machine. Why all this bullshit over some stupid cover when the only thing that really matters is the stuff on the inside.
Yea who doesn't want to blow up a bunch of psych-babbling bozo's that think they are techinically superior to the rest of the world. All that the silcon coast is is a bunch of suits and wanna-be's armed with a surf board and bad attitudes. This guys really need to get a grip on reality and figure out that they don't mean squat to the technology world. If they disappeared by earthquake, tidal wave, metor, China bombing them, or turned to pillars of salt. I could truely say that I don't think I would even notice them gone. Last time i visited the bay i found that the population consisted of one engineer type to every 50 VP management type or managment plastic enhanced spawning whore type. Let me be the one to light the fuse!!!!
First of all i'm writting this message from QNX's little OS which is what this little contraversy get rooted from. It's a single floppy boot with a GUI that is really quite cute and works very well. But the topic of the matter is weather or not X is a lumbering dinosaur waiting down linux from being able to be the next super OS. Answer is not at all simple. X windows is designed the way it is to be able to be accessable across networks and serial connections as a way of doing graphics via remote. A lighter weight remote capable GUI has been tried and tried again through out history and it is simply not a easy task. So as far as I can see in any given future linux would be retarded to give up the ability to communicate via X protocol, it would loose alot of its capabilities in the unix work field. Is there room for a new GUI that would be for home users that would not have remote capabilities there for giving the end-user 100% of his machine to him. I would say its not that bad of a idea really.

I want to turn in the criminal activity of a little greek resteraunt here called 'Piza OLYMPIA' This activity can not be tolerated.
I run that game now on my telnet BBS. dh.darktech.org
