I thought one, if not the principal, benefit of motion-blur is to reduce the fps necessary to make motion look realistic. In other words, 30fps with motion-blur would have the same apparent visual continuity as, say, 80 fps without motion-blur. Isn't this what 3dfx has been saying when promoting the motion-blur capability of the V5?
