  1. Thanx Jon :-) on Excerpt:Running to the Mountain · · Score: 1

Thanx for your contributions to /., I value them & I share some of your experiences with my first time Linux install, not so long ago.

While I am part geek, there are some other parts to me as well, including mountain climbing. So I will be buying your book, when I emerge from my current poverty .

I ve read some of John Ralston Saul also (whom Jon quoted), very interesting & insightful author, whom I meet once when he was out in New Zealand. Well, it s Friday night, so I am off to do other things. Thanx again & keep up the writing.

    Contemporary Nihilism is meaningless.

KDE is not dying-it just released a new version...

About the QT stuff, you assumptions are out of date, since the next version will be ok-check out the SuSE or KDE sites for this & cease & desist from spreading out-dated & ergo wrong information.

Also, the paradox in public prophesy, is that it tends to self-fullfilling prophesy; which then becomes one reason why they get it right. Isn't this how these organizations make money?

Anyhow, they have mis-read the scene & their info is outdated & wrong. Ha, ha, ha...

Will, that be one egg or two, on your face???

  3. "Free," unless you made it on The cheap computer phenomenon · · Score: 1

Intel is clearly in a price war with AMD & the former has somewhat deeper pockets. So, buy AMD.... To keep prices down and tech innovation up, but.... Free Trad/Liberalization of Markets, leads potentially to unethical companies exploiting cheap wages off shore (or @ home by disabling unions-of course it is a question of a sane balance), ie Nike, GM (seen the movie Roger & I ????) And/or read some Marx or Jurgen Habermas. So, my suggestion is to boycott companies who do this anti- general human well-being thingy. Remember boycotts s worked with drift net fishing & scared the hell of McDonald s, so the latter stopped chopping down rain forests. I mean, what is the point of stopping the Borg in their tracks, cause they are creepie, if you then load and EXCEPTIONAL OS called Linux, on the backs of third world sweat shop labor? Possibly inconsistent? Also, as a newbie, THANX to all you hackers who put together the amazing OS :-)
