Too bad the author ignored functional languages completely.
Anyway, My wishlist for next popular language:
Layered architecture
Functional core
Component hype
Lambda calculus made easy
Hindley-Milner type system
Proper tutorial on abstractions and complexity
Concurrency
Only dependencies restrict execution order
Top-Down + Bottom-up process
Binary compability
User friendly(tm) open-source GUI library
