It would certainly give a good record of what that proportion of western society which used the internet was like...

I recon whilst we're at it we ought to record everything that's on TV and especially the adverts as this would complete the picture. I recon television adverts would give a better indication of what people were like in the late 20th \ early 21st century than the internet.
