    Perhaps RMS misunderstood you? I certainly believe that RMS likes published specifications and documents about hardware. How else are we supposed to fiddle with it when we're writing operating systems and device drivers?

    Apparantly, you have never come across a blind user before. There are plenty of blind computer users that use GUIs. Many GUIs have some sort of support for alternate names of buttons and other ways of making life easier for the voice synthesizer many of them use. Of course, there are also blind people with hearing disabilities and, from what I gather, they don't like GUIs much... ;-)

    Confirmed. I'm running the Debian GNU/Linux distribution on this ThinkPad 570 in my lap. I had no problems with the video if I used the latest XFree86 with support for NeoMagic. The modem, of course, is a WinModem of no use for me, but I've heard that people are working on it. I think it was at
