  1. iPod clearance issue with the install... on Mac mini in a Volkswagen · · Score: 1

Are there any other VW owners that have a problem with this picture.

I tried installing my iPod the same way, but I quickly found that it wouldn't rest in the ashtray location while leaning back. There isn't enough clearance of the A/C controls. In the picture, you can clearly see that the iPod leans BACK (away from the vehicle driver).

Did he do some voodoo here, or is it possible to install an iPod this high in the ashtray and have it lean back (instead of forward, which was my solution)?

Can the installer post a picture of the iPod actually docked in that iPod slot (or email me how you did it!)?

    Regardless, I love this install...!

If they insist on abusing the law, perhaps the file sharers should give them a taste of their own medicine.

By making a user "buy" a song from some provider, the user can lawfully affirm that they purchased the music and they had no reason to believe otherwise. Now the definition of "buy" can vary greatly from site to site, and if some server agreed that a user could download the media in exchange for the promise of payment (a contract). The user wouldn't really be liable, I believe. However, I am not a Lawyer, and I don't portend to be one.

If these top-level servers/providers turned over rapidly enough, the legal system wouldn't really be useful as a quashing system.

    Just my .02 cents.

  6. Does higher frequency relate to bandwidth? on FCC Opens More Spectrum for WISPs · · Score: 1

I wonder why they're requiring all AP's to be registered.

Is there a reason that all of the new techology runs on higher 2.4Ghz spectrum and not lower frequencies? Is there a correlation or is it just how things have worked out?

If there's a correlation, it could be the FCC pre-empting wi-fi regulation by laying down the rules before future technology is adopted.

It's the government afterall, so the FCC would likely know about new technology long before we consumers would.

What if the next-gen WiFi devices, etc. are designed or forced to operate in this new spectrum; and thusly, regulated/registered?

The pay is pretty good (relatively), yet your average daily expenses will be lower (ex. a Gallon of Milk won't cost you an arm and a leg).

It's a big with a warm/Southern feel and suprisingly, there is a significant amount of very intelligent people around here. Granted, it's no San. Fran., but it's probably your best compromise (the beach is only 2 hours away, if you're into [legal] watersports).
