Well if Taco was serious about everything that he wants out of cloning, he is stupid. If he is just trying to piss people off, then he is brilliant.
Objectively, what is the practicality out of cloning? I can see organs being cloned for people who need replacements but lets be real here, the general public is not ready (if ever) for a harvest of "brainless clone[s] in a tube" to be backup plans for those of us who plan on blowing out some organs. People will bitch and human rights activists will blow themselves up until it's banned.
Aside from a way to directly grow just spare organs, the whole idea of cloning loses its practicality anyway. The world is getting overpopulated, do we really need another form of reproduction? And to add to that, do you really want the only people who can afford it reproducing? Ugh, another Bill Gates.
I can see a day when cold war-like arms races are based off of countries cloning their strongest men at faster rates, etc... We can live without that crap, nukes are bad enough. It's too early to ban the research of cloning, but I can see why it should be globally controlled.
