Well the whole point of the Sims IS to simulate real life after all. It makes sense to put it to some good use in the real world.
Incidentally, someone once said "Only people with no lives plays the Sims."

Why does this remind me of those transparent spheres you put gerbils into, and watch as they run around and bump into everything?
