It does take it longer (10-15seconds?) to find the 5GHZ radio - but it does. I haven't noticed any drops. May be it is the combination of newer hardware and Yosemite.

Roger this. At my first start-up job years ago -- the grey beard VP of Engineering gave me that advice. We were discussing a pending merger and if I wanted to stay on. I mumbled something about wanting to be loyal to the company -- he cut me off and dropped the wisdom -- never be loyal to a company because they will never be loyal to you. I have learned it is important to be loyal and honest with people/friends. Companies can f-themselves.

Just one way and one specific gesture for a specific purpose. See claims discussion posted above.

How does this stifle innovation? To me it seems it will force inventors to find different ways to use gestures to unlock computers. That is encouraging innovation. Not Nobel Prize winning stuff to be sure, but innovation nonetheless.

  5. posting the abstract is click bait. on Apple Awarded Gesture-Control Patent · · Score: 1

This is the novel bit they have: "...the gesture comprising a rising motion along a vertical axis in space wherein the hand performs the rising motion for at least an unlock gesture distance at a minimum unlock gesture speed; and transitioning the non-tactile 3D user interface from a locked state to an unlocked state upon detecting completion of the gesture" Every other gesture is still fair game.

Washington State is spending more money this year than last year - that is not a cut in spending. They have wasted $300mm on a unneeded Data Palace (Center) among other things... A 10% sales tax on custom software is a method to shift funds from the $1billion+ spend on state IT projects into the general fund - because the 10% tax will apply to state projects as well.
