The diet included many foods, such as cheesecake, which included high levels of sugar. Sugar has been found to be more addictive than cocaine on its own. It is likely that the fat+sugar combination has a synergistic addictive effect, however, anyone who has been on a low carbohydrate diet can tell you that fat on its own actually suppresses appetite and does not cause cravings.
