  1. That, and screw PPP on Dump Broadband, Dig Out Your Modem! · · Score: 1

With all the threats of Government regulations on the Internet, I'm going stop using PPP. Instead, I'm going to break out HDB UUCP, and encrypt to my hearts content.

  2. Let's buy it on NAI to Sell Off PGP Product Line · · Score: 1

Anyone want to chip in and buy PGP? I'll sink in $100 towards scoring it up. Not sure what I'd do with it, but I know I'd give it away (or do some sort of shareware sort of thing) and open it up if possible. This would make a dandy co-op product.

Btw, the next time you're chatting with the ludites in your life, you might want to make the analogy of Encryption to that of an envelope - not many people send a realspace letter sans an envelope, but folks seem to do it all the time on the Inet.

  3. Mosix? Beowulf? on World Wide Cluster · · Score: 1

Hey - how about Mosix or Beowulf across the Inet. Yeah, I know the link is crappy for traffic, but it'd be neat to give it a shot. Anyone game?

  4. Dump Linux, Run 95! on Fred Moody Says Linux Worst Operating System Ever · · Score: 1

According to http://www.securityfocus.com/frames/?content=/vdb/ stats.html (from Mr. Moody's article) it clearly shows that Windows 95 is much more secure than Windows NT. What the heck did Microsoft release NT then?

As it says on the Security Focus: "We leave the interpretation of these numbers to you."

I wonder if Mr. Moody shouldn't consider going back to school to get a propper education in Statistics.

  5. Re:what ever will we do? on Suck Says Mozilla Is Dead · · Score: 1

Have you tried Opera (http://www.opera.com)? It's a pretty speedy little critter. The only major thing against it, is that it isn't free.

Of course, I'm typing as a hypocrit - I'm using IE5. Not because it's Great - mostly because it came with the silly system (and it's the corp. standard.)

Seems that Mozilla needs to be refactored. Rather than complaining about about, grab a copy, and get to work. Open Source is what you want it to be.
