  1. hrmmm on FBI's Wiretapping Demands May Nix Verio Deal · · Score: 4

I see why the FBI would want Only US companies dealing with US traffic. If you had a ligitmate reason to wire-tap say, a kiddie porn dealer, would you as an FBI agent want to have to deal with international law in a matter that would normally be covered under simple interstate issues?

but at the same time, the FBI should make some attempt at modernizing the current wiretapping laws to allow for the "Globalization of the communications industry" (look mommy, a herd of coroprate buzzwords) Working under laws that are as old as the telephone is an absolute joke. But this is all under the impression that they have a ligitmate reason to be wiretapping in the first place

    just .02 of devils advocating.

  2. reminds me on Understanding Script Kiddies · · Score: 1

Script kiddies remind me of the quote "never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers." The sad thing is, they are only contributing to the ever eroding freedoms of the internet. Every time they deface a webpage, they simply add ammunition to some uneducated represenative's fight to "clean up the internet." I'm glad i'm not 16 anymore.

  3. Java competitor? on Microsoft's New Language · · Score: 1

"Microsoft executives say the language is not a Java competitor."

I didn't know they knew what competition meant. I was under the impression Microsoft's marketing strategy was to type "iddqd" and hope for the best.

That very idea of a geosynchronos orbit ad banner was considered about two years ago. I don't know the specifics too well, but i do remember laws were passed to prevent today's sunset from being brought to you by pepsi. Although the hacking prospects for a screen that big would be impressive.

He seems to have a better hold on it than most of the people working in the college and university IT departments that are causing much of the uproar. Perhaps you should leave your scissors at home, you seem to have cut too much out of the article.
