  1. juice on New Intermediate Language Proposed · · Score: 1

I hope they look into juice rather then doing yet another stack machine. Supposedly by using a tree structure as its intermediate rather then byte code more of the original intent of the program is preserved allowing for more powerful optimizations to be done by the jit.

I'm surprised that he could be for Gore and working on a program to simplify/ depoliticize taxes at the same time. I have yet to hear Gore mention tax cuts without prefacing it with the word "targeted". "Targeted" seems to be the antithesis of simple and depoliticize. The only people who get "targeted" tax cuts are those who can afford cpa's to figure them out, not the poor people conned into voting for them.

do you believe that a woman's right to choose is based on an implied constitutional right to privacy? If not what do you believe it is based on? If so, do you believe that this constitutional right to privacy extends to the right to encrypt your data any way you see fit? If not why not? Finally do you believe that this constitutional right to privacy protects the right of patients to get medical marijuana? Again if not why not?

It is perfectly permissible to buy a CD and record it on tape so you can listen to it in the car.

Is it? I allways thought it was too but in the article the judge implied that there had to be more than just a format change for something to be considered fair use. Thats why I thought the ruleing didn't sound right. If it is fair use to copy a cd to cassete then how is it different to copy it to the internet for your own personal use? And if that is ok why is it wrong for someone else to copy it to the internet and store it for you?
