I have a Dazzle USB device ($250 US) and it sure does the trick. Here's what I did:
Plug DVD svideo, audio into dazzle
Plug Dazzle into PC
Plug svideo out from dazzle into TV
Fire up software...play DVD...hit record and we're good to go.
I thought DVD's were supposed to be a lot harder to copy >=)
Now if they just had software that let me use my wonderful dazzle in Linux!!
I'm in the same boat as Kintanon. I enjoyed it too. If you're a fan of sci-fi / cartoons / anime / movies, I would suggest seeing it. It's really not as bad as / . has said, of course, IMHO.
I stream vg mp3 music off my server so I can listen to it at work. I do have a few anime cd's up as well but it's mostly vg music.
I have about 1300 songs and 27 different soundtracks. Of them, my favorite has to be Xenogears. (I even have the osv in my car, I just can't stop.... =)
If you hit up Zophars domain (http://zophar.net/), you can find a nifty tool for playing SPC files from SNES Video Games (such as Chrono Trigger, FF4-6, etc...) They even have a winamp plugin available so you can chuck those SPC's into an MP3 for great digital playback! Now you would think you might have to create these by playing the video games yourself, but that would be wrong - they have a HUGE archive of SPC soundtracks! When I found it, I thought I hit the goldmine =)

That's not out on DVD yet is Escaflowne. I've become very attached to the series - the animation - the music - the story, they're all wonderful.
You can find out more information from the distributor website at http://www.animevillage.com/
I believe a DVD should be available in October, it's well worth the wait though!
