These punks distributing MP3, playstation CD images, MS Office, "mod chips" for game machines and DVD players, software cracks, are no different than the loads of small-time, penny-ante "bosses" during the 1920s. And if they don't want this to turn into a large scale organized net mafia, Feds had better nix the DMCA and recognize WHAT THE PEOPLE THINK (not corps) is fair use.

Actually I recall reading about some teenagers who loaded a revolver with a blank (a shell with powder but no projectile. Hollywood uses them all the time to make noise and smoke but without real lead flying around.) Anyway, the kids thought they'd be safe playing russian roulette this way. Well the moron puts the gun to his hear and pulls the trigger. Dead. There's still enough force from the power alone at point blank range to rip a hole in any adjacent flesh.
So instead of using Network Solutions, every one registers with the other domain registrars. Who loses? Well, sure it's a hassle, but there goes Network Solutions' income. Darwinism is fun to watch.
But it's not Darwinism and natural selection. It's a very carefully and tightly controlled process of genetic manipulation. The unworthy need not attempt to join the game.
Not anyone can be a registrar unless they sign the WIPO agreement.
Wheather or not one agrees with WIPO, you must be able to smell the politics and power trips of ICANN. There's no competition or free market. ICANN is absolute dictator behind the scenes.
A GLOBAL internet ought to have GLOBAL registrars.
Differ with ICANN on idealogy and they won't let you play. Is this not wrong?
