It sounds more to me like Microsoft has invented a new way to tax its users. How do you justify charging a developer to write applications for their platform???
Here's a thought.....if MickeySoft wrote their software right THE FIRST TIME....they wouldn't have to be paranoid about more viruses after the breakup!
This really isn't surprising, nor unexpected. This just means I only have to adjust the filters on who can IM me in one place now instead of two. :)
