I mentioned it in my post below, but you might wanna take a look at DragonBane, here's a link to it at PalmGear.

  2. Games I'd *really* like to see on the Palm on Dreadling Released · · Score: 1

Allright, I'm impressed by DREADling. It's not bad, overall, and will definetly be fun to show off to my geek friends. But I do agree with some other posters in that it's still go t aways to go before I'd pay real cash for it. I want to be able to know that I've shot things, for one! But it's a step forward, and hey, I've ogt nothing against playing games on the Palm. If you beleive your Palm should be kept pure and pristine as only an organizer and productivity tool, then just don't download any games onto it! Simple, nuh? For those of us who enjoy a good frag while we're on the go, this is a Good Thing (tm), tho. However.. Like some previous posters, I'm more of a RPG fan than a shooter fan. I don't think DREADling will dig too deeply into the hours I've spent playing varied and sundry Kyle's Quest levels, or giving all those other RPG-type games that come out for the palm a shot (and for the previous poster who asked for a Bard's Tale clone for the Palm, you might wanna check out DragonBane.. look for it on PalmGear). And I got to thinking, as soon as I saw that a game like DREADling was even possible on the Palm.. these little PDA's we geeks love so much have a lot more horsepower than, say.. My old, battered, and much-loved Commodore 64, no? And I have many, many fond memories of playing the Ultima games, all the way to and including Ultima 7, on that old Commodore 64 (man, it had like 14 diskettes!), so.. I figure.. would it be feasible to clone a few of those old Ultima games? At the very least, someone take up the challenge to clone Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar, a game that is, in many people's minds, a true classic.. It's gotta be possible (and, yeah, I allready know about the Piltima levels for Kyle's Quest that are supposed to be a decent rendtiion of Ultima 4 et al., but it's just not the *same*..) The keyboard commands, with each letter corresponding to a different action, could easily be replaced by simple graffiti strokes, I'm sure.. it can' be *that* hard, can it? :) I dunno, here's hoping and praying that some like-minded geek out there takes me up on this and decides to put as much effort into an Ultima clone for the Palm as these people did for their Doom clone.. Ta-ta for now, fellow geek-RPG fanatics-Palm fetishists...
