There would be no reason for Obi-Wan to remember 3PO since they never meet in TPM. As for R2, Obi-Wan never really acknowledges him. He is just another droid in the background. Also it is many years between the two meetings and Obi-Wan would have no reason to put two and two together.
These reasons may not hold up during the next two movies, but I haven't really found any glaring plot inconsistencies yet. But I'm sure that Lucasfilm has an entire Continuity Division to catch them before it's too late.
That Episode IV title didn't show up until it hit video. I was 13 when the first one came out and saw it several times in the theatre. There was no Episode IV or "A New Hope". It went straight from the Star Wars logo to the preamble.
That wouldn't necessarily be the case. After crashing on Tatooine in ANH, R2 seemed to know *exactly* where he was going. As for 3PO, his memory may end up being wiped sometime in the next two movies. Luke's Uncle Owen's offhand remark about wiping the droids memories make it seem as if it is a common procedure upon recieving a new droid.
How would you like to be the Director who was expected to sign the purchase req. for 2000 Playstations? I'd expect he would recieve a quick visit from his local friendly GAO auditor.
Also...the licence plate on Harrison Ford's hot rod in American Grafitti is THX-138
