In the first place, I don't believe that the performance could be that much better without some problems in configuration of the software they were using, or lack of support in a specific dirivers area of this. I have a hard time believing this benchmark to be unbiassed, or that the results weren't doctored in some way ( as they were)
I mean, lets be honest with ourselves here, 6.1 is old, and there have been several releases of updated Kernels since, as well as that fact that the 2.4 Kernel is just about ready to rear its head (ugly or not)... What did that last statement have to do with the whole thing? Absolutely nothing, but the fact still remains that thy were using outadted code in thier comparison, and quite possibly, the Linux machine may hav been misconfigured.
Very impressive, think about what we could do with this, It would be even more impressive if we could have printed out speakers, I mean think of it, the singing telegram that really sings, smiles and dances and will play again whenever... My gosh, I am such a geek romantic... Also See: New ways to exploit the U.S.P.S. Peace, mOfOhAwK
I just find myself wondering why BSD is not also tested when they line these things up? I am not a BSD activist mind you, but it would be cool to see how BSD ACTUALLY compares head to head with Linux, etc, ad nauseum... Peace, mOfOhAwK
Hmmm... Well in any event this piece of news I find quite disturbing. It is not that I like spam, care for it, etc... But it sets a precedent... How will they define spam, or unsolicited e-mails? Will Spammers be registered? And why, on God's Green Earth (Or Mother Natures or Allah's or however you believe) would they put together something so pansy and full of loopholes... THERE IS NO POINT! Anyway's I've got a bad joke for you... Why did the Senator cross the road? To get the donuts left on the other side by pr0n spammers.
Maybe we can sell them D++ to improve thier letter grade... I'm sure they'd buy it... lol
Ok well...
