Actually once the Sapce station is built all of the staging for the launcing a mars mission would happen there. Bringing up food, water, and heavy stuff can come up in stages. Once ready to go. The Ion rocket would leave from space and not have to deal with the gravitational issues of launching directly from earth all the shit it takes for prolonged space travel.

    A purely metaphorical analogy.

When the wave hits the incomming side of the chamber, more or less, the equal and opposite effect occurs on the other side of the chamber. I push on one end of the box, the other end pushes out. The medium in this case, cesium, carries the response more quickly then a light passing through the medium, as it were, of a vacuum. Another analogy is sound traveling more quickly and sometimes even with more amplitude in water then it does in air.

But if linux is to take hold, shouldn't it be branching out into the market of (as people often call them here) lusers, where the real money is anyway? Exactly, M$ is not making all of their money selling NT Server and NT Server suport, they are making it selling millions of copy of Win98 to people who will never RTFM. The Admins who are using NT/Unix/Linux and other real operating systems are going to news groups and colleagues first before making the big support call.
