Back in 2013 I did exactly that. Went out and picked up a MacBook Air because it was lighter, thinner and, most of all, because it had all day battery life when the best Windows laptops could manage was about four hours with a following wind.
At the time I could have loaded Windows 7 on the MacBook and been happy. In the event I loaded Windows in a VM and promptly ignored it.
Can someone in the know make a definitive statement about whether this affects OS X users and if it does what to do?
