Any time that I colud not find a part, it would only take a little politeness to either get the part from another RS store, or have the part(s) ordered. Sometimes I could let the store personel that membes from the local radio club may be coming in to get the save parts for a club project and the store personel are more than happy to order extras.
If you don't want to deal with RS people (in peson) order from Radio Shack Unlimited.
I truly feel sorry for you folks! I used to experience 'salesmen' like that in Radio Shack, years ago. Fortunatly, now the local Shack has a very KNOWLEDGABLE manager, and several Ham Radio enthusiasts on staff. I usually speak with these 3 or 4 'store representatives', or just tell the 'salesman' "I'm just looking". I would suggest you look at the name-tag to see if the employee has a Ham Radio callsign. These folks are usually very helpful. Most of the time, they actually buy 'PARTS' fron the SHACK themselves, rather than just DirectTV or Cell Phones. It appears RS is trying to compete with Big Corporations taht will be 'advertising' on the ISS. (International Space Station) I say 'GOOD LUCK to RS.'
