Privacy has practical value. In negotiations of all sorts, it's normally prudent to make information available carefully -- selectively you might say. If I'm selling a house, it's not in my best interest for potential buyers to have a lot of information about my financial situation. In poker, you don't show your cards. In buying and selling, you keep certain things to yourself. I share the view that it's impossible to maintain complete privacy, and that it's very easy for people to find out all kinds of things about me, but I'm not prepared to accept that privacy doesn't matter and that I shouldn't care about it. There are many things that are just nobody else's business, and the reason they are nobody else's business is also nobody else's business. Regards, Peter Barry www.[my sig].com
