It seems ppl here were too quick to pass judgement on Intel. I wouldn't blame most ppl though, since Tom's review sounded so convincing. But we do have to face the fact that there are so many over-biased Intel-bashers here.
In spite of the impressive stats that the Pentium IV has notched up, I shall stick with buying Athlons. If you noticed, the Athlon 1.2 GHz chip fared quite well.
Honestly, I wouldn't concern myself with the GHz microprocessor war quite yet. I will consider buying a new processor only next summer and by that time more refined versions of these chips shd come out. Why splurge money on chips that you can't fully trust when you can wait and watch.
