As a Corel employee, I'd like to say that Corel has enough money to afford a good lawyer. On the other hand, a protracted legal case is potentialy not viable.
I think that after the initial successes of RedHat, VA, and Andover stock, the media, like ZiffDavis, has taken a keen intrest in Open Source stocks... I just hope that Linuxcare's troubles won't bleed over to other companies.
Why does the United States (and other countries) have so stringant immigration laws? I *thought* that the United States was a country of immigrants. Why do we try to stop the flow into our great melting pot of cultures. Multi-Ethnicity is a must. For we are all one species.
One of the main disadvantages of the old VMS was that it was proprietry. So, It was not hacked and refined as much as the more open UNIX was. Is OpenVMS trully opensourced or is it just the name?
It is still legacy-ware, sorta like cobal. When the next big y2k-like scare hits, I bet VMS will be at fault.:P! Oh yah.. What are the differences between VMS and OpenVMS?
Also, remember that in environments where there are many computers, such as an university,a person could get on another computer. I work for the University of Indiana Helpdesk, and we've had preferential support for people who submit questions through a web page. Basically, this is much more convenient, although we still offer on-site and telephone support.

Uh, If there wasn't UNIX and vms, linux would not exist. I like Linux, but I ain't a zealot like you!
Basically, I am trying to draw a contrast between hardware and software. Hardware gets melted. Software doesn't.

Geez, we should auto-moderate the first 5 posts for each topic :D.
