Interestingly, of course, the original internet (ARPANET) was designed to function despite massive partial segmentation and such. While the designers obviously (at least outwardly) focused on this being from nuclear assault, it appears to be working for many other kinds of attacks too. Major props to any of the founders.
Yes, I remember. Near the end of that level, there are the two lifts. The second one should be going up. What you have to do is take that almost to the top, and jump on to "ceiling", so that you're running with your head just off the top of the screen. They have these in levels 1, 5, and 8 (IIRC). Now if you're really good, you can also catch the one-up that's hidden in the ceiling one block past the end of the large brick group that's right after the L-shaped group with the fire flower in it. I just LOVE console games.
You may think this is funny . . . but one of my best friends had this through high school. It was surprisingly convenient (with a table next to it, to hold an elevated monitor).
I've done it three times (yes, I can be hard on things when I hack them;) and all I had to do was remove a capacitor (C4 IIRC). We estimated that it boosted to a little over 20 mHz (it comes at 8 mHz, again IIRC, it's been a while). I know all the docs say to replace it with something else, but it worked for me. Then again, there may be a reason why I was on my third one after three years of using it . . .
Actually, people on the development lists are actively talking about this and other similar issues. Please consult http://gnutella.wego.com/go/wego.discussion.disc? groupId=116705&discId=117653&view=threads&curMsgId =-1&index=-1&action=view for a web-based interface.

D00D that's funny! Now my monitor is wearing my cherry slushie. We both thank you!
