Agreed, the possibilty for content to make money is a huge advantage of i-mode.
But this is not a WAP limitation - in fact CDMAOne in japan is WAP and allows microtransactions (pay $1 for this service for a month), just like i-mode.
But with the current state of HDML browsers in the US, there are such limitations to creating content anyone would want to pay for, hence the carriers are not yet putting these systems into place. There is also much thought that US consumers just want flat rate pricing, not pay-per-use content. Americans love a buffet, right?/dc
