What business did they have building an OS? How's that going for them?
With WIMAX/WIFI/LTE overthrowing EVO/EVDO now's an oppertune time to get into the cell service industry. Or to pioneer new technology that's virtually allready been around for a long time!? *cough* Wimax/LTE...
Furthermore; They're one of the few companys that could bankrole that sort of thing and add some compitition to a VERY STALE*stale not stagnant* market.
Hell, I'd love to see them lay down a series of fiber links that could replace PSTN all together, and be a one stop shop home telephone/cell phone/internet solution.
I'd love to see Google provide a cell service. He'll I'm tired of Sprint, T-mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. They all equally suck in one way or another. Not to say that Google could do better. But, Hey; I'd love to see them try! I would try their service!
I've noticed with these companies that even when you get the BBB involved, nothing becomes of it.
I've read various articles about the BBB loosing it's and/or has lost its legitimacy?
I'm left with only questions:
1) Where is the consumer to turn? Who sticks up for the working man that spends his/her hard earned cash on these products?
2) What the hell happened to accountability!? If no one has the consumers back, what is the consumer to do when they get screwed?
3) Is their something that we as people can do? I'd be willing to fork out some of my own money to start some sort of organization that can defend people against these corporations. I'm sure their are more people out their that feel the same way!
I'm serious, let me know! I'm actually willing to do something about it!
Thank you HTC for Alpha testing the HTC EVO on the general public! So many of us were left with a phone that you have to charge every 3 hours, but the charging ports broke within the first few uses!
HTC says their warrantys don't cover physical damage, what the hell good is it?
Sprint says, pay me a hundred bucks for a refurb fool! So you do, and a week later; rinse and repeat!
It was different when it was software, but hardware being beta tested on the public and they eat the cost!? I'm left with only one thing to say: W T F
I'd think that any bit of security at this point that would be implaced by a corperation as large as this one would have some alignment with the US government. Of course this will be exploited, anything that can be exploited will be.
I'm starting to feel as if it's time that big brother, big mother, and our even bigger father to lay the hell off. I just hope that more people start to feel that way. Of course this is all speculation... I'm really not that tech savy compaird to most of you. However, I do feel that most of the freedoms that people so much better than myself died for, are long gone.
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. -Ben Franklin
Welcome to the new business model in America. We spin it the way you want it, and then by the time you've bought it, it's entirely too late. The only people/persons without accountability are those who have money. Geeee, I wonder who made it that way, maybe those with money...? Just because most are like that doesn't mean all are.
I remember a time in which credibility was a virtue amongst men, or was that just my perception?
Let us tip our glasses at the new era: unscrupulous.
Last one out turn the lights off...
Let us now take all successful business and demean their successes!
Redistribute the wealth and have the government absolve all power belonging to any established (successful) businesses!
We need to empower our governants to be our proverbial mothers and fathers.
They will care for us whilest we tend the green pastures!
Let us pray to whatever God you pray to now..... It's in our governments hands now.
Little support (if not openly hostile) There aren't a lot of places to call for Linux support. And a lot of the places you can go for support on the net are filled with Linux fanatics who are openly hostile to Windows switchers and newbies. The level of "you don't belong here" attitude towards newbies in Linux circles makes Apple fans look civil.
I agree that it's not a client OS if you have to interface with the command prompt.
In any facet of society or group that one enters, they undergo a bit of hazing. I
don't agree with it, hell; I don't even like it. However, that seems to be the
way it goes. Yes Linux users can be mean. Then again, so could Joseph Stalin...
I think half the reason people use Linux is it's a challenge, most people just
want to turn the damn thing on and have it work. Half the time I want one or the other
depending on my mood.
Like all things someone sees a potential for profit and wants to leave their mark. Heh, is Linux marketable... Not really... lol
Above all, one thing I'll never understand is peoples loyalty to corporations. The mines better than yours attitude, are we that petty? Ewwww, humans
