Would you consider it reasonable if someone waited outside your house, and followed you every single day - all the places you go to, who you meet, etc? After all, you're using public highways and passing through public spaces. What if people employed a network of people to collate this information on you to make it easier? After all, where you go isn't necessarily private in itself, but would you be OK with people literally following every step you take and documenting it all? Does substituting technology "to do the heavy lifting and reducing the time required" make it acceptable?
After all, if you aren't happy with someone else knowing your every move, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place apparently...
