    Evernote does not work on Linux, so "multi-platform" might be more correct than "cross-platform."

    There is an unofficial Evernote client for Linux called "Nevernote" (http://nevernote.sourceforge.net/). Haven't tried it, but apparently it's pretty faithful.

    Cool! You should make this into a separate FF addon so that ordinary users can get it easier.

    I've been using Facebookblocker (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/212323/) for Firefox, which I think might achieve this goal.

    Hmmm, I believe Firefox is able to 'tear out' tabs into their own window (right-click on the tab and select 'Open in new window'. You can get them back again with drag-and-drop...
