Not talking about the design of the beast, which is a copy of the Apple Spartacus (20th anniversary one), but about compatibility...
I'm a graphic designer and in my company we use both PCs and MACs, without any compatibility problems. For the graphic files, Photoshop, Illustartor etc. files are the same on both platforms, and I can read and write Mac zip disks, floppies, HDs thanx to a little piece of shareware called TransMac ($64). So your argument goes ploof on that one.
And, as a PC user, I also understand why ppl use Mac in the graphic industry... Because it all started with Mac! 10 years ago, everyting was done on Mac simply because PCs were still discovering how to display more than 16 colours at once AND were as easy to use as they are today. It was also already super easy to put them in a LAN cofiguration, which can still be tricky with Windoze...
At the moment, I'm using NT (yes, I know) for all the graphics I do, but seeing how fast the G3's are, and looking forward the new Mac OS, I might consider a little Mac training.
Unfortunately, Linux still hasn't reached a user-friendl state that will allow artists without computer knowledge to do whatever they want without undergoing a computer training.
I think, IMHO, that the Un*x community should stop helping M$ by divulgating security holes in their products. Let's keep everything for ourselves and then crash every single M$ server so that they'll be too down to spit on the open community ever again.
I believe M$ is able to organize some bugs "discoveries" in a well organized way so they already have a miraculous patch ready for it. I'm maybe paranoid, but knowing M$ it wouldn't surprise me.
No pity!

Yep, sure... Who gives a sh*it anyways? I mean, there's quite a difference between the guy who's short and buys a C300 to push it to 450 (like me), and the guy who buys an Alpha... The price ain't the same, neither are the applications...
I find your comment out of context and rather stupid, even with lots of:)...
For info, my C300A@450 runs fine, blasts a P3-500 and crashes almost never...
I think there's the same sort of regulation going on in Germany, or maybe they tried to apply it. I think it's just impossible. Who's going to filter ALL OF THE NET and rate it? Their 'film commition' will need a lot of people for that task. Wow. What I know about censorship is Quake is forbiden in Germany...
First they tell you what to read, then what to think.

An easy to install-easy to use OS is what 90% of the computer users want. Not everybody is willing to become a geek or simply get INTO the OS. I think it's a good thing that through different distros Linux can get to ANY user.
Btw, RH isn't the only 'easy' distro to install... Have a look at SuSE, they have really, really nice stuff too...:)
An NT user who hates it. Please port Photoshop and all the Macromedia tools to Linux...PLEASE!!!!
I use winamp 2.10 on a NT machine with a P2-350, and it uses less than 1% CPU here... playing shoutcast streams all day long... Can't really say it's a CPU-eater...

Shove it up and keep in mind Linus Torvalds is Finnish, if you know who he is and where Finland is. Talking about morons...
