Say I manages to post a page on the new Yahoo! service containing in a completely anonymous manner (the details of how this would be done are really beside the point). What would be the expected outcome of this? Yahoo! might be denying responsibility, but then who is responsible?
Think about what kind of system you'd have if you actually DID remove everything but the kernel and replaced it with GNU stuff. Calling it "GNU/NT" would certainly be a whole hell of a lot less misleading than calling it just "NT."
On Redhat you start up GnoRPM (in the "system" submenu of the gnome main menu), find your window manager under "web find," and click "install." What was the guy's point again? Can we please have people who know what the fuck they're talking about when they want to bash an OS?

XFree86 is definitely NOT what you'd want to use, unless you plan on porting Xnest...:)
Be needs friends to pay its bills. Linux could certainly do without "friends" who make fools of themselves trying to bash it on slashdot (as an example see the poster referring to the nt/linux benchmarks below).
Is this the guy who I've heard would get irritated at all the people around him who would give him buggy code?:)

Can you point out the lines in the source code to any version of the linux kernel that indicate being narrowly targeted towards serving http? Or are you just spouting crap (while blowing off the fact that Windows95 with its wide user base has a different code base than NT server with its web server revenue)?

I hope you're not trying to say that coming up with excuses was inappropriate for the first round of tests. After all, how far did Mindcraft turn out to be off? A factor of 2?

I think the majority in this case would be the people with wannabe pages and pictures of grandchildren and dogs.
Have you ever actually tried to say "gnumeric"?
It's not the whole book, but take a look at this.
If this book is *half* as helpful as Havoc is on gtk-list@redhat.com, it will be well worth the money.

Does anyone know where I can find an equivalent of this for the Athlon?
Sample code is ALWAYS under this kind of license. What's your point?

I just realized that my below may not be your below: I'm referring to comment 16.
If you have an X server for BeOS, yes. That's all X servers do.

What did you think all those .src.rpm files on the second CD were?

If you'll remember, MS picked up the tab for round 1 of these tests.
Then maybe they could pay someone more for a gnome programming manual. :)
Or you could get a cable modem or dsl and "apt-get install" or "apt-get dist-upgrade" all day. Less effort that way. :)
cutting a piece of paper in half decently with less trouble than it would take to go buy paper of another size :)
it's because multiple people use my machines. So being multiuser is a big plus.
What does the Alpha have to do with any of Intel's internal specs?
Talk about a "brickbat"...
How many people do you think Cygnus would be paying to write free software if they add the option of releasing changes to gcc as propietary?
