One of my servers is an old Dell Poweredge 2100/200 running a heavily patched Netware 4.11. I got the go ahead to buy a new Poweredge 4300 for which we were going to buy a 100 user Netware 5 license. However, Novell nearly doubled the price. Therefore, the 4300 will now be a Linux/Samba server for 80 or so Windoze clients. I think both of the "heavy weights" are far too expensive for small businesses and universities.
No, that is not the case. There is a reason for the rules of grammar and spelling. We have these rules to aid in clear communication. Sloppy usage of the English language, or any human language for that matter, is just as bad as sloppy usage of Perl, C++ or any other programming language. I would wager that any programmers reading this site who found improper syntax or even nonstandard idioms in another's source code would then have lesser regard for the author of the code. Clarity and precision are essential. Often clarity of language can be directly linked to clarity of thought.
Speeking of community mnemonics, does anyone remember where a page along the lines of "How to Manage a Hacker" might reside? I've got a few people who need to read it.
I agree. I've just spent 3 days trying to reinstall win95 on a cyrix 686 p166 for someone as a favor. It still won't install. Random GPF's in the middle of the install, errors and hard drive. Booted from a floppy and it worked no problem. I didn't bother setting up all the crashing before the windows installer even boots. I installed Debian just on a lark. It installed, but I couldn't get it to boot from the hardware since this was just an experiment. But just goes to show how much more robust Linux is than windoze.
Where's the benchmark?

I agree. I don't believe much of anything Micro$oft has to say, especially after the DOJ fiasco. If they'll falsify testimony in a government court, they'll certainly falsify m something like this!

The links don't seem to work anymore. Has Micro$oft or some other company filed a suit or for an injunction to stop the distribution of the code?
