I was surprised to find that Man of Steel is a rather boring movie considering how much I enjoyed what Snyder did with Watchmen. However, I realize now that the reason Watchmen turned out so well is because the comic book is a frame-for-frame carbon copy of what would eventually be filmed. You can't screw something up if you're copying an award-winning comic. To me, Man of Steel is basically 1978's Superman without all of the charm and with a crapload of special effects added. If anything, it's an insult to audiences in that the producers seem to believe that our attention span is so limited that anything other than an onslaught of buildings collapsing and things exploding will confuse us. This despite the fact that Game of Thrones, in all of its complexity, is dominating audience interest.
The poles shift every 32,000 years or so and were scheduled to be happening at this point in time. It might have devastating effects as easily as it might be completely unapparent to all of us. However, this is not caused by humans.
I bought Windows 8 on the first day because the 40$ for Pro deal, no matter how you look at it, is a good one. After a month of running it, I ended up purchasing Start8 to have the interface return to that of Windows 7 and removed any Windows 8-centric application. To say the least, the new interface bothers me even though I like the improvements on the classic side of things. My only gripe is how the OS doesn't support hardware which was properly supported under Windows 7.
I switched over to Microsoft Security Essentials from Webroot SpySweeper (which is a great product) and I haven't looked back. I was looking to just save money and was surprised that Microsoft's anti-virus does a great job. If I can away with not giving money to people who slow down my computer under the guise of offering me security, I'll take it.

This is further proof that speaking - even for a second - to the cops is a big mistake. Keep quiet no matter what they say.
