I agree. Try watching the news on your local PBS station sometime. You might be surprised at the difference in quality! (and the absence of the nauseating sensationalism)
You say you have developed for CE, but then you wonder why there isn't a menu bar along the bottom. So since you have developed for CE you doubtlessely know that each application does actually have a menu along the bottom, depending on what the application needs (File, Edit, View, etc).
Perhaps you were just not liking the fact that the OS options that the Start Button provides are not always visible (you have to actually tap the start button to get to them). This is true, I can't imagine permanently giving up that precious display space for a permanent launch bar. The display screen is small enough as it is! The hidden Start menu is a great solution, if you ask me.
I am interested in finding out what brand of printers that you do like, if not HP.
Since HP makes so many different printers, I am sure some of them must be dogs, but I sure don't, for instance, expect their $99 ones to be anywhere as good as the $250 and up ones, not to mention the over-$500 ones
I think Johnny's reason for suggesting this type of screen-cap method is because it would not violate the DMCA. The DMCA is worded that you can't circumvent encryption which is designed to protect copyright. If you are screen-capping the output of the legitimate reader, then the reader is decrypting it for you, so you don't have to circumvent the encryption yourself, so you are not in violation of the DMCA.
I thought modularity had something to do with it, also.
When Apple designs a case, they automatically control all possibilities of hardware configurations.
When someone designs a typical PC case, they don't know for sure what motherboard will be in the case, much less all of the other hardware that may end up crammed inside there.
And this doesn't even touch on the economics of the fact that the PC case designer has much more competition than the Apple case designer, so he must design & price the PC case very competitively if he wants to be in business next year.

Wow, how long ago was that? What version of CE did it use?

I was under the impression that that it is the power supply fan that you hear mostly, not the processor fan.
If the technology of these processor fans really works, it should be applicable to power supply fans, no?
